The libraries deanship aims basically at providing the libraries and information services in the frame of the research and education in the university and to support the social and cultural activities in the society. Also secondary libraries can achieve such goals by:-
• Providing books and all possible sources of information in all the fields of knowledge, to enhance the process of research and teaching in the university.
• Operating technical operations to organize and keep the information sources.
• Preparing indexes for the contents of the library.
• Preparing bibliographies with national, international or Arabic reference, and to be presented to all educational organizations.
• Media and defining the prints of the university and to encourage the process of exchange, distribution, and selling on the local, Arabic and international levels.
• Organizing book exhibits and contributing in the national, Arabic, international exhibits.
• Cooperation with other libraries and other sources of information inside and outside the kingdom.
• Organizing a training course for the students of libraries in the universities and institutions of Riyadh and supervising them. Also organizing learning program and developing the skills of the employees in the field of libraries inside the libraries of the university or other libraries.
So the central library had approved plans to moderate and develop its services by adding the newest technologies of electronic library to the library, the thing that happened by mechanizing the Arabic library.
