To Enhance Initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Dialogue of Religion Followers, Islamic World League Signs  Cooperation Memo with Al Imam University.

General Secretariat of Islamic World League signed a Cooperation Memo in the field of dialogue between followers of religions with Al Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University at noon yesterday at the office of His Excellency the chancellor of university.

General Secretary of the Islamic World League His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmuhsin Al Turki said that the agreement focuses on several fields, the most important of which is putting into effect the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the field of dialogue. The league has established a center for dialogue with followers of other religions in the name of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and in addition to that it cooperates in conducting many researches in different fields.

Dr. Alturki added that the league chose to sign this agreement with Al Imam University as it is the leader in the field of Islamic studies and researches and it has strong ties with various parties and with the prominent establishments and dignities. There will also be some work teams that  cooperate for enacting this agreement between the league and university.

Chancellor of the university said that this agreement has been concluded as a result of our awareness of the importance of cooperation and coordination to contribute to advancement of the Islamic world and defending Islam and muslims.

He stated that the university and the league agreed upon coordinating their efforts and capabilities in the Islamic fields in general, and in the fields of dialogue in particular, based on the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz May Allah guard him on dialogue between the followers of religions and civilizations. Also the university and the league agreed upon exchange of experiences, studies, researches, prints and reports in their respective fields of specialty, conducting the studies of contemporary Islamic issues, and translation of studies and books of common interest.

On the other hand, dean of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Center for Contemporary Islamic Studies and Civilizations Dialogue Dr. Abdumohsen bin Mohammad Alsumaih said that the university and the league agreed upon cooperation in holding the debates, conferences,  symposiums, workshops and sharia' courses. This agreement also enables the league to benefit from the manpower and scientific capabilities of the university in managing its offices and centers outside the kingdom. The two parties have also agreed upon forming a joint higher committee to set up an annual executive program that specifies the joint projects and the mechanisms of cooperation and coordination between the two parties, and assessing the joint cooperation.

Dr. Alsumaih asserted that signing this agreement at this important time is an evidence of our sincere determination and keenness to enact initiation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in dialogue between followers of religions, cultures and civilizations, and going to wider scopes.

The agreement was signed in presence of university deputies and a number of its staff.
