Dr. Khalid is elected as President for the Saudi Medical Deans Committee

As a hallmark of the University’s successful administration and advancement, Dr. Khalid A. Al Abdul-rahman, Dean of Imam University's Medicine College, was recently elected by members of the Saudi Medical Colleges Deans Committee as President of the committee for two years which can be renewed for a further two years.
Dr. Abdul-Mun'im A. Al-Hayyaani, Secretary-General of the committee highlighted that, "the 21 members of the executive committee would remain in their academic posts, and that there would be no changes to committee procedures or objectives". He explained that "the election took place at King Faisal University during the 7th annual meeting of 'Medical Education for Medical Colleges in the GCC countries'.
During this meeting, the attendees directed their attention and efforts towards discussing the medical cooperation between GCC medical colleges and the Royal Canadian College. The proposed agreement aims to facilitate the admistrative procedures for Saudi physicians into the fellowship medical programs; a step which immensely helps the individual physician's qualifications and the health development program for the Kingdom as a whole.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Hayyaani emphasized that, a Canadian medical delegation will be paying a visit to Saudi Arabia in the near future to inspect the training panels and procedures that are offered by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
