Imam Rector Visits some Chinese Islamic Heritages

In connection with the visit paid by the Saudi delegation headed by H.E. Dr. Khalid Al-Angary, Saudi Minister of Higher Education, H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, had paid on the last days a visit to Niujie Mosque, i.e. an oldest and largest mosque in Beijing, China.

Accompanied by a number of officials of the delegation, Dr. Aba Al-Khail toured in the buildings of Niujie Mosque, which its walls and tombs engraving by the Arabic calligraphy and architecture, and toured in its public facilities. He was, also, briefed about the mosque history and its actual current area. Niujie Mosque was first built in 996 G and was reconstructed as well as enlarged through the history under all Chinese leaders and emperors. It, currently, covers an area of approximately 4000 square meters.

Moreover, Dr. Aba Al-Khail paid a visit to the China Islamic Association where he welcomed there by the vice-director of the association along with the director of Chinese Institute for Islamic Studies. They highly lauded the due care and attention paid by H.M. King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz, the Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques, and Saudi Arabia government to all association activities. Dr. Aba Al-Khail discussed with them all venues of bilateral cooperation between Imam University and the Chinese association. At the end of the visit, Dr. Aba Al-Khail committed himself to highly care and support all activities and academic services provided by the association to Chinese Muslim community.
