1st Quality Assurance Forum on Campus

The 1st Quality Assurance Forum for Saudi University Quality Officials is held on campus on October 25-27, 2008 under the auspices of H.E. Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Angary, Minister of Higher Education. The forum - Quality is Everyone Responsibility - disseminates quality culture. The Imam University - represented by University Deputy for Studies, Development and Academic Accreditation - seeks to know the recent developments in quality assurance in higher education products.

The forum helps enrich the academic and administrative work process on campus. It gives a value-add to the higher education institutions and their employees. It pins hopes on lifting quality standards to meet the internationally- accredited standards.

The forum discuses a number of topics on higher education quality standards, foremost of which are: furthering quality culture in Saudi universities; shedding light on quality assurance significance and academic accreditation;   guaranteeing  everybody contribution to top-quality deliverables; exchanging expertise; and discussing how to  cement inter-university cooperation.

Other topics include the role played by the National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment in cementing quality in higher education institutions, challenges facing up the Arab universities, Saudi universities experiences in academic accreditation quality, continuous assessment to courses, and quality criterion in higher education management.

Thanking Al-Angary for sponsoring the forum, Ad-Dawud, vice-dean of Studies, Development and Academic Accreditation, said, “I do thank H.E. Such fora beef up development procedures and focus on quality, the significance of which goes big in line with academic enlargement in Saudi universities. This is a favorable chance to exchange expertise and to discuss issues of higher education quality assurance in an elaborate way”.

“The forum is supported by H.E. Professor Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, rector of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. He irons out any obstacles standing against reaching work process.
