Higher Education Minister Auspices Distance Learning Discussion Panel

On the morning of this day, H.E. Prof. Dr. Khalid Al-Angry, Saudi Minister for Higher Education, auspice at the university conference Bldg a distinguished discussion panel – Quality of Distance Learning Outputs – Practices and Trends – which organized by Imam University Distance Learning Deanship in tandem with National Center for E-Learning and Distance Learning (NCEDL) .

The event, which was started with recitation of some verses of the Glorious Quran, had addressed firstly by H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Imam University, where he welcomed H.E. the minster and highly lauded the continuous efforts paid by him to the university activities in order to let it cope successfully with the challenges of the distance learning’s future. He, further, remarked that, the university and its institutes have always been receiving due care from H.M. King Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and the Second Deputy Premier Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz.

On the opening session agenda, Dr. Abdul-rahman As-Sanad, Imam Distance Learning Dean, had delivered a speech where he was presented an outlook about the deanship’s activities and accomplishments during the last weeks.

At the end of the opening session, H.E. Prof, Dr. Al-Angry had inaugurated some projects of Distance Learning Deanship such as, commencing the second phase of the Developed Affiliation Postgraduate Program “Entsaap” and launching new programs at the university learning TV. In furtherance, momentums were handed over to H.E. the minister by Dr. Aba Al-Khail from both Distance Learning Deanship and National Center for E-Learning and Distance Learning (NCEDL).
It’s worth pointing out that, the discussion panel program has initiated by a lecture “Excellence Criteria and Indicators of Distance Learning” delivered by Prof. Dr. Paul Liver and a lecture “E-University – Global Experiences” addressed by Dr. Hisham At-Twajiri. Common discussion session on “Trends of Distance Learning” was also conduced and headed by Dr. Abdullah Al-Megren, Chairperson of NCEDL.
