Rector: Neither bargaining nor auctioneering on patriotism!

Below is the speech by H.E. Professor Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, rector of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, before the symposium of National Patriotism in Public Education: visions and aspirations.

More accomplishments are made to our homeland year after year thanks to loyalty, sincerity and love. On the very day, everyone remembers a man of strong determination. He went at night along with a pool of courageous people whose hearts had been beating speedily while breathtaking. They were motivated up by belief rekindled with patriotism - to achieve a far-sighted sound vision. The vision produced a far-flung kingdom. May Allah show mercy to you, Imam Abdulaziz bin Abdur-Rahman.

Blessed with safety, security, and obedience to Allah Almighty, we praise Allah - Exalted be He- for this. We pledge anew our allegiance to the rulers, atop of whom is the sponsor and builder of our modern rise; King Abdullah ibn Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz, may Allah render his efforts a success, and our sound government.

 We praise Allah Almighty for the persistent growth and development in all walks of life, atop of which is education, which is in the priorities of the agenda and policies of the kingdom since it was unified up to present.

Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and its branches and institutes have always been keen on celebrating the National Day every year. The celebration helps cement junior relationship with their belief, history, territories, homelands, and leaders. It helps them sense the significant gains they have yielded and the civilization they enjoy to praise Allah for His incalculable favors.

We should not neglect while here to recommend ourselves, our offspring, and our community to fear Allah - Exalted be He – in public and in secret. We must be away from fanaticism and warring. We must denounce deeds by sabotage-mongers, mischief-makers, misled thought promoters, and sedition implanters. We should say to them, “Stop it! Neither bargaining nor auctioneering on patriotism!”
