Ideological Security on Focus

Dr. Ahmad Y. A. Ad-Darweesh
The ideological security protects the juniors against deviated intellectual and cultural influences, says Dr. Ahmad Y. A. Ad-Driweesh, Vice-Rector for Community Service and Continuing Education, in a sermon at al-Masheliah Mosque, Najran, south of Saudi Arabia.
On the concept of the ideological security, Ad-Driweesh said, “It guards the youth against misled thought; futile beliefs; and mistaken Ijtihad personal reasoning by non-competent people. It keeps them away from those trying to destabilize constants of religion within the community; playing games with the homeland potentials, values, and Islamic habits; implanting extremism into hearts of individuals and community; and planting seeds of sedition and sectarianism amongst community members.”
Stressing the necessity to guard the community against non-Islamic thought and science-weaved falsehoods, Ad-Driweesh said, “The community should lead a secure life that protects its thought stemmed from the Glorious Quran, Sunna and biographies of the salaf (the righteous ancestors).”
On the close relation between terrorism and deviated thought, Ad-Driweesh said, “Terrorism results from a deviated thought and it is one of its production. It is a scheme weaved by a deviation trend that conduces to perpetrating terrorism operations encouraging making mischief.” He has stressed that achieving the ideological security guarantees securing the national security, in turn.
On the exclusiveness of this country, Ad-Driweesh said, “One of the best peculiarities of this country is monotheism; associating no partners to Allah Almighty. The efforts have been exerted by the former and current rulers of the country to achieve security in the four corners based upon what monotheism entails.”
Concluding the sermon, Ad-Driweesh said, “One of the best ways to realize ideological security in community is showing obedience to the rulers. Their obedience brings about security for they support the oppressed, take the side of the right, carry out Hudud penalties ordained by Allah Almighty, disseminate Islamic Calling, administer justice, enjoin the right, and forbidden the wrong.”
The sermon was delivered in Najran thanks to the cooperation between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, endowment, and guidance and Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University.
