College Faculty KAIZEN Training Course

Saudi Scientific Society for training & Human Resource Development under Ministry of Higher Education and Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME) dispatched on February 15, 2010 (2 weeks) a group of 20 university professors to Japan to learn about Kaizen and its actual implementation in the business.

The training program continued for 2 weeks starting from Feb 15, 2010. The Training Program consisted of: learning the theory of Kaizen, the process of continuous improvement in business activities. The lecturer of the Program was: Prof. Seiichi, Fujita, Waseda Business School.


The Lectures covered typical Japanese business management such as 5S method, Just In Time (JIT), KAIZEN, Total Quality Management (TQM), Cost Management.

Participants would be acquainted with the actual implementation of Kaizen practices by visiting a number of factories including those of Toyota Motors, Panasonic Eco Systems, JFE Steel, and Fuji Electric Systems. During Ramadan in 2009, MBC TV series featured Kaizen and showed how this concept has been implemented in the daily life of Japanese people.

This year's training program also included lectures about Customer Satisfaction (CS) management, and the experience of local services of Japanese services.

It is to be mentioned here that Japan External Trade Organization JETRO) Riyadh Office had held a number of Kaizen Training Programs in Saudi Arabia.
