Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud
Second Deputy Premier and Minister of the Interior
Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of the Interior, is the third highest ranking official in the government, after the King and Crown Prince. Born in Taif in AH 1352/1933, he is the twenty-third son of the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. He was educated in the princes' school, in addition to receiving instruction from his father and eminent religious leaders.
Prince Naif began his political career as Deputy Governor, and later Governor, of Riyadh Province during the lifetime of his father, King Abdulaziz. During the reign of King Feisal Bin Abdulaziz, Prince Naif was appointed Deputy Minister of Interior in AH 1390/1970, and then in AH 1394/1974, he became Deputy Minister of Interior with the rank of Minister. In AH 1395/1975, during the reign of King Khalid Bin Abdulaziz, Prince Naif was appointed Minister of State for Internal Affairs, and, later in the same year, the Kingdom's Minister of Interior, a position in which he continues to serve.
In AH 1430/2009, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz also appointed Prince Naif Second Deputy Premier.
