 Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Launches Science College Laboratories and Showcases Academic and Research Achievements

​​​​     The College of Science at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University inaugurated its applied, scientific, and research laboratories on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the presence of the Vice Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Asmari, the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dayel, along with several college deans, supporting deanships, and faculty members.



     The inauguration comes as part of the university's efforts to enhance the educational and practical environment, support learning outcomes, and enable students to acquire scientific and research skills using the latest facilities, contributing to improved education quality and academic excellence.



     The ceremony also announced the commencement of field steps to complete the construction of laboratories in the female section, reflecting the university's commitment to developing its educational infrastructure and providing an integrated and stimulating learning environment.



     During the event, the college reviewed its supreme achievements for 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, demonstrating notable progress in education and scientific research, as well as its efforts to support research productivity and strengthen academic outcomes.



     In his speech, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Dayel emphasized that approximately 85% of the college's research has been published in top-tier journals (Q1 and Q2) indexed in Web of Science. He also noted the registration of 170 patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the publication of 18 academic books through internationally recognized publishers.



     He added that the college organized more than 136 specialized scientific seminars, and 27 faculty members were ranked among the top 2% of most influential scientists worldwide according to Stanford University.



     On the academic front, the college launched several programs aligned with labor market needs, including a Master of Science in Applied Biology, proposed PhD programs in Physics, and an Executive Master of Science in Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics—the first of its kind in the Middle East.



     The college also achieved several academic accreditations, including full accreditation of the Bachelor's program in Biology from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation, European accreditation for the Chemistry program, accreditation of the Master's program in Physics from ABET, and accreditation of four academic programs from the German agency ASIIN until 2031.



     In terms of community service, the college provided over 420 volunteer teaching hours to support new students through the “Help Center" initiative, in addition to more than 140 hours of training and scientific outreach for various community groups.



     The ceremony concluded with honoring Dr. Mohammed Babtin in appreciation of his contributions during his tenure as former dean of the college.​
