 Peaceful Coexistence Conference at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Commences with Dialogue Sessions

 Tomorrow evening, Saturday, the Peaceful Coexistence Conference at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University will kick off with engaging dialogue sessions featuring a distinguished group of scholars and thinkers.

 Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the international conference titled "The Role of Universities in Promoting the Values of National Belonging and Peaceful Coexistence" will be launched from April 27 to 29, 2024. Esteemed scholars, thinkers, and intellectuals will take the stage to share their insights.

 University President, Prof. Ahmed bin Salem Al Ameri, expressed his belief that the conference presents an opportunity to learn about the best international practices in promoting national belonging and peaceful coexistence. He emphasized the conference's role in highlighting the significant achievements made by Saudi universities in fostering national belonging and offering academic and extracurricular programs that facilitate peaceful coexistence.

 The conference features an exceptional lineup of scholars, thinkers, and intellectuals. Noteworthy participants include Dr. Amr Ezzat, the Secretary-General of the Arab University Associations, and Dr. Mohammad Al-Sudairi, the Deputy Minister of Education for Research and Innovation, who will discuss national belonging and sustainable development. The session will be chaired by President Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, with the participation of researchers Dr. Badriya Al-Otaibi, A. Kawthar Al-Arbash, and Dr. Bashaer Al-Rumaih.

 Another session will delve into the topics of creed, national belonging, and peaceful coexistence. It will be presented by His Excellency A. Dr. Saad Al-Shathri, Advisor to the Royal Court, alongside the participation of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Murabit Al-Shanqeeti, the Mufti of Mauritania. Prof. Dr. Marai Al-Qahtani, former president of Jazan University, will chair the session, with researchers Dr. Ajlan Al-Ajlan and Dr. Sultan Al-Asqa contributing.

 The conference will also host a session featuring Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sanad, the General President of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, and Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, the President of the Human Rights Commission. They will discuss moderation's role in developing peaceful coexistence. The session will be chaired by Dr. Enas Al-Issa, the President of Princess Nourah University, with researcher Dr. Iman Al-Taie from the University of Baghdad participating.

 The first day's sessions will conclude with a panel where Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, the Head of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Fawzan, the Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, will explore mechanisms and means of strengthening national belonging. The session will be chaired by Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Bunyan, the President of Naif University for Security Sciences, with researchers Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Asiri, Dr. Nadia Al-Nafisa, and Dr. Sarah Al-Faisal offering their insights.

The conference will resume on the second day, starting on Sunday morning with a session presented by Her Highness Princess Prof. Al-Jawhara Bint Fahd Al Saud, a former member of the Shura Council. She will share experiences of universities in promoting national belonging and peaceful coexistence, with the participation of researchers Dr. Amal Al-Habdan, Dr. Walid Al-Jasser, and Dr. Sarmad Al-Khazraji from Tikrit University. The session will be chaired by Dr. Faleh Al-Sulami, the former President of King Khalid University.

 The sessions will conclude with a panel titled "The Role of Curriculum and Extracurricular Activities in Promoting the Values of National Belonging and Peaceful Coexistence," featuring a speech by Dr. Maadi Al-Madhhab, the President of Umm Al-Qura University. Participating researchers include Dr. Fathia Bin Gharsan, Dr. Hayat Niaz, and Dr. Maimouna Aba Al-Khail. The session will be chaired by Dr. Mohamed Al-Shaya, the President of Al-Jouf University.​
