 Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Launches Ambitious Blood Donation Drive, Aiming to Gather 1,000 Donors in 2024

​Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University has announced the launch of a blood donation initiative for 2024, with the goal of gathering 1,000 donors. The initiative is being spearheaded by the General Directorate of Social Responsibility and Community Service at the University. It is set to commence on Sunday, April 21, 2024, and will run until Thursday, May 2, 2024.


This undertaking reflects the university's commitment to active involvement and social responsibility, aligning with its strategic plan that emphasizes the significance of fostering effective community partnerships and contributions. Multiple entities are actively participating in this initiative, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of National Guard, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, the Specialized Medical Center, the University College of Medicine, and the National Center for Responsibility and Studies.


The primary objective of this initiative is to bridge the gap between blood donors and blood banks by facilitating coordination between the General Directorate of Social Responsibility and Community Service and the blood banks in Riyadh. The initiative will be carried out in two phases, with a schedule designed to accommodate the university's academic calendar. Over a period of ten consecutive days, various designated locations within the university campus will be utilized to promote a culture of community participation. The aim is for the university to assume a leadership role in society through this endeavor.
